800 employees resign after company asks them to work from office

Because the Covid situation has improved, several corporations have already referred to as their employees to office, ending the work at home (WFH).

Nonetheless, it seems some staff want to work from home additional. Recently, hundreds of workers have resigned when a company requested them to come back to the office.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr staff have resigned from the kids on-line coding learning edtech start-up in the final two months after being asked to work from office.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its workers to return to workplace inside a month’s time, in accordance with an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the corporate introduced the coverage to end work from home and requested distant employees to return to workplace by April 18.

The resignations got here from full-time employees of the sales, coding, and math teams. Extra workers are expected to put down their papers within the coming months.

One of the employees who resigned told the website that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick parents, while others produce other obligations. It isn't right to name again workers in such a short period of time,” the previous WhiteHat Jr worker mentioned.

One other worker stated salaries also factored in the resolution to not return to the workplace. At the time of hiring, staff have been told about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Nonetheless, after working from residence for 2 years, staff believed that their salaries should be revised to mirror the price of living in costly cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former worker remarked.
