The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played dead after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother mentioned the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed through the shooting.

"Round midnight my sister-in-law called me and he or she was simply crying, like 'I believe it simply hit Miah. I believe all the things got here to reality now,'" stated Blanca Rivera.

Rivera stated Miah's teacher, Irma Garcia, was one of the two academics killed. Her buddies and classmates had been also focused.

Rivera mentioned that's when Miah went into survival mode.
