A lady visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials said Tuesday.
The 25-year-old lady, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a news release from the park.
The woman approached the female bison Monday morning after it came close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Outdated Trustworthy geyser, the park mentioned.

An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison live at the park, and they have injured more individuals than another animal, the park mentioned.
When the visitor came inside 10 toes of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet in the air, the park stated.
The girl had puncture wounds and other accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service mentioned. Her condition was unknown Tuesday.
Two other folks were also near the animal when it gored the lady, the park mentioned. The discharge didn’t say in the event that they had been injured.
The park warned individuals to stay 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and at least 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A previous model of this article misstated the severity of the girl’s accidents. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
