Bison gores Yellowstone customer, tosses her 10 feet, park officials say

A woman visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials stated Tuesday.

The 25-year-old lady, who was visiting from Ohio, was not identified in a information release from the park.

The woman approached the female bison Monday morning after it got here close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Outdated Faithful geyser, the park stated.

Park rules require guests to stay greater than 25 yards from the animals, the largest mammals in North America, which are unpredictable, can high speeds of 35 mph and can leap a number of toes.

An estimated 2,300 to five,500 bison live at the park, and so they have injured extra people than another animal, the park stated.

When the visitor came within 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet in the air, the park stated.
