Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to try to promote broken automobile with lacking tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the legal alcohol limit after a minimum of 5 individuals called 911.

Officers say the calls began coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Foremost Avenue exit. They say the crash brought about a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, but the driver saved going.

Other callers say the motive force was all over the highway and now lacking a entrance tire.

They are saying he eventually stopped at a car dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Employees instructed police the driver, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was attempting to sell his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had simply been in a crash.

They say Mattingly smelled of alcohol and nearly fell a number of occasions. Officers say he examined .291 on a transportable breath check.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is going through several fees.

He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former skilled baseball player, Don Mattingly.
