TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, according to officials.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different occasions in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court data say he flew forwards and backwards disguising himself as an English trainer.

A few of the boys, in accordance with the DOJ, have been lured with promises of cash and items. Others introduced him as their English trainer.

The Tampa Bay News says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Venture Secure Childhood, which was an effort to search out child sex abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the USA will still catch as much as baby predators who even travel to overseas countries to sexually abuse minor youngsters.
