Florida man will get life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, in response to officials.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court data say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English trainer.

A number of the boys, based on the DOJ, have been lured with promises of money and items. Others launched him as their English instructor.

The Tampa Bay News says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was part of Challenge Safe Childhood, which was an effort to seek out youngster sex abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the US will still catch as much as youngster predators who even journey to overseas nations to sexually abuse minor kids. Because of HSI’s international investigative authorities and robust partnerships, both at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh Metropolis, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming extra kids and his sufferer could have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge John Dumas, according to a information release from stated HSI Tampa Assistant Particular Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded responsible to two counts of journey with intent to have interaction in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into illegal sexual exercise, in line with the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
