Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I feel higher about the route of our nation."

In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether the country's leadership is committed to representing its folks's best interests and whether america is truly "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked mother and father making an attempt to arrange to cost in to stop the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our children's freedom to go to school without having bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I might have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let it be recognized via protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in america.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the last 10 days, we have had aged Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have now youngsters murdered at college," Kerr advised reporters in the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm tired. I am so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families which can be out there ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
