Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better about the direction of our nation."

In a blog put up, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's leadership is committed to representing its folks's finest interests and whether or not the USA is actually "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked dad and mom making an attempt to organize to charge in to stop the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra important than our youngsters's freedom to go to highschool with no need bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the shortage of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it's known by means of protest. The home of the courageous should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion against gun violence in the US.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' collection towards the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have children murdered at college," Kerr informed reporters at the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so bored with getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated households which can be out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
