Gabe Kapler: ‘I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better concerning the course of our nation’

Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I feel higher about the course of our nation."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked dad and mom trying to organize to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra necessary than our children's freedom to go to highschool with no need bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the dearth of supply of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it's identified through protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now now we have youngsters murdered in school," Kerr told reporters firstly of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I am drained. I'm so tired of getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Sufficient."
