Man arrested in connection with “school shooter” signs present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "college shooter" were present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple costs. 

An increased quantity of police officers have been positioned at schools within the communities as a result of the indicators. A number of schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Security mentioned, but they decided there isn't a credible risk at this time.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security division released a photograph of the plate however blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor fees including false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged presently.
