New York Attorney Basic Letitia James will investigate social media companies including Amazon's Twitch in connection to the apparently racially motivated shooting at a Buffalo grocery store that left 10 dead and three injured.

James' workplace may also deal with 4chan, 8chan and Discord, but isn't limited to these platforms, in line with a news release printed Wednesday. Investigators will look at on-line resources the gunman "used to debate and amplify his intentions and acts to carry out this assault."

The shooter initially livestreamed his actions to Twitch during the massacre at Tops grocery store on Saturday. Twenty-two folks viewed the livestream earlier than it was removed, in response to The Washington Submit.

Investigators and studies have found that, previous to the shooting, the suspect posted about white supremacist theories and plans for violence online. Officials mentioned he researched demographics of the area and drove to the store desiring to kill as many Black people as attainable.

Discord will cooperate with the investigation, a spokesperson stated.

A Twitch spokesperson said the company is cooperating with the investigation.

Representatives for Twitch and 4chan didn't immediately respond to requests for remark. A representative for 8chan could not immediately be identified.
