DALLAS - The high courtroom will enable a wrongful demise lawsuit to proceed towards the city of Dallas and four police officers.
The family of a person who died in police custody in 2016 sued.
Tony Timpa referred to as police for help as he had a drug and mental health crisis.
The city fought towards releasing body digicam video and whit it did come out it was apparent why. It confirmed the officers mocking the dying man.

One had his knee on Timpa’s again and neck for almost quarter-hour and the health worker stated that contributed to his loss of life.
The town of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected from lawsuits.
The Supreme Court docket upheld a federal appeals courtroom’s ruling that can allow the case to proceed.

"The choice signifies that the case can proceed to trial and that there will be no more delays from any appellate court. Additionally, the choice signifies that the Fifth Circuit did it right that their ruling regarding lethal pressure would be the law of the land no less than in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana for as long as we know," said Geoff Henley, an lawyer for Timpa’s household.
These are the states lined by the Fifth Circuit Courtroom of Appeals ruling allowing the swimsuit to proceed.
Three years ago, the Dallas district legal professional dropped criminal prices against three of the officers.
