Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s girls to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.
“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is conventional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.
“Those women who should not too previous or younger should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a view to keep away from provocation when meeting males who aren't mahram (adult close male family),” the decree mentioned.
It added that if women had no important work outside it was “higher they stay at residence.”
Throughout their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed similar restrictions on girls.
