Teen arrested after mom observed son had gun at Texas faculty drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - Several businesses responded to a center college in Texas Friday morning after a teen’s mother noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Center School round 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager never made it inside the building, and he ran from the school.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area together with several different businesses in an attempt to find him.
The teen was discovered close to the college’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old could be dealing with a felony weapons cost.
Police say there was no threat made to the varsity or anybody inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty was briefly positioned on lockout as a result of the incident.
