Uvalde police, college district no longer cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Division and the Uvalde Unbiased Faculty District police drive are no longer cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Security's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary Faculty and the state's evaluate of the legislation enforcement response, a number of regulation enforcement sources tell ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial Faculty District did not instantly reply to requests for comment from ABC Information.

According to sources, the choice to cease cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday during which he mentioned the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the fallacious choice" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Security said, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police supplied an initial interview however has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of many worst school shootings in U.S. history, left 19 children and two adults useless.
