Russian spy aircraft violates Swedish air space

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft briefly violated Sweden’s airspace on Friday, Swedish defense officers mentioned on Saturday, because the Scandinavian country ponders a bid for NATO membership after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“A Russian AN-30 propeller aircraft violated Swedish airspace on Friday night,” the Swedish defense ministry said in a press release, adding that its groups had followed the incident and photographed it.
The ministry said the aircraft was flying east of Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic, before it headed toward Swedish territory.
“It is completely unacceptable to violate Swedish airspace,” public television SVT quoted Protection Minister Peter Hultqvist as saying.
“This action is unprofessional and given the overall safety situation very inappropriate. Swedish sovereignty should always be revered.”
