Taliban chief orders girls to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They should put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a perform in Kabul.

“These ladies who are usually not too previous or young should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, to be able to keep away from provocation when meeting males who will not be mahram (adult shut male family members),” the decree stated.

It added that if girls had no necessary work outdoors it was “higher they keep at residence.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed comparable restrictions on women.
