Man arrested in reference to “school shooter” signs present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "school shooter" had been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges. 

An elevated quantity of law enforcement officials had been positioned at faculties in the communities because of the indicators. A number of faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs across the communities, the Division of Safety stated, however they determined there isn't a credible menace at this time.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The safety division released a photo of the plate but blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor charges including false report back to legislation enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
