BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "faculty shooter" had been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges.

An elevated quantity of police officers were placed at faculties within the communities because of the signs. Multiple faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the signs around the communities, the Department of Safety stated, however they determined there is no such thing as a credible menace right now.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security department launched a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor expenses together with false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at the moment.
