Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I feel higher in regards to the direction of our country."

In a blog publish, Kapler questioned whether the nation's leadership is dedicated to representing its folks's best interests and whether america is truly "the land of the free and the house of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked mother and father attempting to organize to charge in to stop the shooter, together with a father who discovered his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more vital than our kids's freedom to go to high school with no need bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it be identified by protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had elderly Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got kids murdered at college," Kerr informed reporters at the beginning of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so bored with getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated families which can be out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Enough."
