Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I really feel better concerning the course of our nation."

In a weblog put up, Kapler questioned whether the nation's management is dedicated to representing its people's best interests and whether or not the US is truly "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked dad and mom attempting to organize to cost in to stop the shooter, together with a father who discovered his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra important than our youngsters's freedom to go to high school without having bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let it's known through protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action against gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' collection in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"Within the final 10 days, we've had aged Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have now kids murdered at college," Kerr informed reporters at first of the press convention.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm tired. I'm so uninterested in getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are on the market ... I am tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
