Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to try to promote damaged car with missing tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the authorized alcohol limit after at least 5 people called 911.

Officers say the calls started coming in round 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They say witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Essential Avenue exit. They say the crash brought about a flat tire and the car to smoke, however the driver saved going.

Different callers say the driver was everywhere in the highway and now lacking a front tire.

They say he eventually stopped at a automobile dealership and appeared “super drunk.”

Workers advised police the driver, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was making an attempt to promote his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.

They say Mattingly smelled of alcohol and virtually fell a number of instances. Officers say he tested .291 on a portable breath take a look at.

Police say inside his SUV, they found 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is going through a number of fees.

He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former skilled baseball participant, Don Mattingly.
