He said there were “a couple different teams shooting at each other usually.”

“As we stand here right now, we’re fortunate we don’t have a dead cop or lifeless citizen or useless neighborhood members," Reynolds said.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are still working the scene.

Two people had been arrested stemming from the assaults on the deputies, police mentioned.

These suspects had been recognized as Ayesha McGee and Tahira McGee, NBC affiliate of WCBD of Charleston reported, citing reviews from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. 

Ayesha McGee was charged with third-degree assault and battery and Tahira McGee with second-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest.
