In den Anfängen geschah der Antritt oft über die Übertragung der URL der geeigneten Seite an die divergenten Search Engines. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Untersuchung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Webseite auf den Web Server der Suchseiten, wo ein 2. Softwaresystem, der bekannte Indexer, Angaben herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Wörter, Links zu sonstigen Seiten). Die frühen Typen der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Angaben, die mit den Webmaster selber vorhanden sind, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Suchmaschinen im Netz wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben eine Übersicht mit Thema einer Seite, aber registrierte sich bald hervor, dass die Inanspruchnahme der Hinweise nicht ordentlich war, da die Wahl der genutzten Schlagworte dank dem Webmaster eine ungenaue Abbildung des Seiteninhalts sonstige Verben vermochten. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in den Meta-Elementen konnten so irrelevante Unterseiten bei speziellen Stöbern listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller mehrere Attribute innert des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu manipulieren, dass die Seite stärker in Resultaten aufgeführt wird.[3] Da die frühen Suchmaschinen sehr auf Aspekte angewiesen waren, die einzig in Händen der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr unsicher für Abusus und Manipulationen im Ranking. Um tolle und relevantere Urteile in Resultaten zu bekommen, mussten sich die Betreiber der Suchmaschinen im Internet an diese Voraussetzungen anpassen. Weil der Gelingen einer Suchseiten davon abhängig ist, essentielle Suchergebnisse zu den gestellten Suchbegriffen anzuzeigen, vermochten untaugliche Resultate zur Folge haben, dass sich die Benutzer nach anderweitigen Möglichkeiten bei der Suche im Web umsehen. Die Erwiderung der Search Engines fortbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen für das Rang, die Gesichtspunkte beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur mühevoll manipulierbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entwickelten mit „Backrub“ – dem Stammvater von Bing – eine Suchmaschine, die auf einem mathematischen KI basierte, der mit Hilfe der Verlinkungsstruktur Websites gewichtete und dies in Rankingalgorithmus einfluss besitzen ließ. Auch weitere Search Engines betreffend pro Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. als der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Google
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
