Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten schnell den Wert einer bevorzugten Listung in den Serps und recht bald entwickelten sich Betriebe, die sich auf die Aufwertung ausgebildeten. In Anfängen geschah der Antritt oft über die Transfer der URL der speziellen Seite bei der unterschiedlichen Suchmaschinen im WWW. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Auswertung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Webpräsenz auf den Server der Suchseiten, wo ein 2. Angebot, der bekannte Indexer, Angaben herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Wörter, Links zu ähnlichen Seiten). Die damaligen Versionen der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Infos, die durch die Webmaster auch gegeben wurden von empirica, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Suchmaschinen im Internet wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben einen Gesamtüberblick per Gehalt einer Seite, aber setzte sich bald hervor, dass die Anwendung dieser Tipps nicht ordentlich war, da die Wahl der verwendeten Schlagworte dank dem Webmaster eine ungenaue Präsentation des Seiteninhalts sonstige Verben hat. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in Meta-Elementen vermochten so irrelevante Unterseiten bei einzigartigen Suchen listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller unterschiedliche Merkmale in einem Zeitraum des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu manipulieren, dass die Seite besser in den Serps aufgeführt wird.[3] Da die frühen Suchmaschinen im Netz sehr auf Merkmalen dependent waren, die nur in Händen der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr vulnerabel für Missbrauch und Manipulationen in der Positionierung. Um gehobenere und relevantere Urteile in den Suchergebnissen zu bekommen, mussten sich die Inhaber der Internet Suchmaschinen an diese Voraussetzungen adjustieren. Weil der Erfolg einer Search Engine davon zusammenhängt, wichtige Ergebnisse der Suchmaschine zu den inszenierten Suchbegriffen anzuzeigen, konnten unpassende Testergebnisse zur Folge haben, dass sich die User nach weiteren Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten bei dem Suche im Web umblicken. Die Antwort der Search Engines fortbestand in komplexeren Algorithmen beim Rangordnung, die Punkte beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur schwierig steuerbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin konstruierten mit „Backrub“ – dem Vorläufer von Suchmaschinen – eine Anlaufstelle, die auf einem mathematischen Routine basierte, der mit Hilfe der Verlinkungsstruktur Internetseiten gewichtete und dies in den Rankingalgorithmus reingehen ließ. Auch übrige Suchmaschinen im WWW bedeckt während der Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. fit der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Bing
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
